Tyson Foods has introduced a new digital tool to help its U.S. team members improve health and well-being.

More than 120,000 Tyson employees can now voluntarily access personalized activities and resources to support emotional, physical, financial and work well-being by computer or mobile app.

These resources, available in 19 languages, include information on preventative health activities, connections to internal company-wide well-being programs and a library of educational resources. It will also function as the centralized health benefits for Tyson Foods.

The tool incentivizes participation by designating certain team members as well-being champion across the company. Points can be earned by syncing the platform to personal fitness trackers, participating in interactive quizzes and engaging with other team members.

Living well initiative

The platform, provided by Limeade, is the cornerstone of the new “Living Well at Tyson Foods” initiative.

“We started the ‘Living Well at Tyson Foods’ initiative because we care about our team members and believe the Limeade platform will enhance our efforts to promote a culture of well-being,” said Dr. Claudia Coplein, chief medical officer, Tyson Foods.

“Our company’s success depends on our people and this initiative will place well-being at the heart of the team member experience, infusing health and wellness into the workplace.”

Other components of the initiative include longer parental leave, additional mental health support, seven new health centers to give employees easier access to healthcare and prescription drug savings.

In October 2022, Tyson Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tyson Foods, invested in poultry worker wearables designed to track worker movement, improve worker health and safety and reduce labor turnover.

Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, Tyson Foods, according to the WATTPoultry Top Companies survey, processed 206.68  million pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis in 2022. It remains the largest poultry producer in the United States.
