Mountaire awards $80,000 in scholarship funds

32 students receive funds to pay for college.

Mountaire Farms, the nation’s fourth-largest chicken company, recently announced that 32 students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship to help them pay for college.

Children and grandchildren of employees, growers and grain producers were eligible for the scholarship. Winners on Delmarva will be invited to Mountaire’s Faith and Family Night at the Delmarva Shorebirds on June 15th, where they will be recognized on-field before the game and enjoy dinner with Mountaire executives. In North Carolina, scholarship winners will be honored at Mountaire’s Faith and Family Night at the Fayetteville Woodpeckers game on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

“We are proud of this program because it embraces everything that we care about–our employees, our growers, our grain producers, and their families,” said Phillip Plylar, president & CEO of Mountaire Farms. “These students have all demonstrated a commitment to their education and their communities, which we believe should be celebrated.”
