Scandi Standard, the largest poultry producer in the Nordic region, appointed Fredrik Sylwan as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective January 15, 2024.

Sylwan brings extensive experience and a demonstrated skill set in finance and strategic leadership, which the company says will be instrumental to Scandi Standards profitable growth journey.

Sylwan has over 20 years of finance and executive leadership experience, and was recently CFO of Perrigo Nordic/ACO Hud Nordic, Vice President Finance and Strategy at Swedish Match and Management Consultant at Accenture. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Stockholm School of Business and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from KTH, Royal Institute of Technology.

“Fredrik is an exceptional addition to our leadership team. His extensive financial expertise and strategic mindset make him an ideal candidate. We are confident that his contributions will help us achieve our financial objectives together with the team,” said Jonas Tunestål, CEO of Scandi Standard.

Sylwan has been chosen to succeed Julia Lagerqvist, who in June announced her intent to leave the company. Lagerqvist, who had been with Scandi Standard for about a year, gave a six-month notice. It has since been announced that she will be the CFO of Dustin, an online based IT partner in the Nordics and the Benelux region.

“Scandi Standard stands out as an industry leader with the potential for significant value creation in the coming years. I look forward to contributing with my skills and experience to the journey of refining Scandi Standard’s business model. I am genuinely enthusiastic about becoming an integral part of Scandi Standard's continuous evolution,” said Sylwan.

Scandi Standard, according to information from the WATTPoultry.com Top Poultry Companies Database, is headquartered in Sweden and also has operations in Norway, Finland and Ireland. The company slaughtered 177.5 million broilers during the past year. It is also involved in table egg production.
