Adisseo launches third edition of International Research Grant

Aim is to fund research projects addressing key challenges in animal nutrition.

Adisseo proudly announces the launch of the third edition of its International Research Grant, reaffirming its commitment to advancing collaborative research in the feed industry. This edition will allocate €1 million over the next three years to fund research projects addressing key challenges in animal nutrition. Adisseo aims to foster international collaboration among leading laboratories and drive innovation within the industry.

The selection process for this prestigious grant will be overseen by a distinguished scientific committee comprising academic professors and industry representatives. The committee members are:

  • Prof. Richard Ducatelle, Veterinary Pathology, Ghent University (Belgium)
  • Prof. Yuming Guo, Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, Beijing (China)
  • Prof. Mike Kidd, Center of Excellence for Poultry Science, University of Arkansas (USA)
  • Prof. Defa Li, Professor, China Agricultural University, Beijing (China)
  • Prof. Bruno Silva, Professor, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil)
  • Dr. Japp Van Milgen, Senior Scientist, INRAe (France)

The committee will rigorously evaluate proposals to ensure the selected projects align with the grant's objectives and have the potential to address complex industry challenges.

This edition of the grant will support projects investigating nutritional approaches for monogastric animals (swine and poultry). Proposals must demonstrate significant sustainable solutions to overcome challenges in the swine or poultry industry, specifically focusing on:

  • Addressing global challenges of climate change
  • Applying the One Health concept in animal production

Building on the success of previous editions, which saw over 112 applications and five selected laureates, Adisseo anticipates a strong response this year. The pre-proposal application period is open until September 2, 2024. After a rigorous evaluation process, pre-selected research projects will be announced on October 21, 2024. The full dossier submission deadline is November 29, 2024, with the final laureates revealed on January 20, 2025.
