NPFDA Scholarship Foundation announces recipients

Eight students were awarded $5,000 scholarships each.

The NPFDA Scholarship Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of scholarships to eight outstanding students from a vast number of qualified applicants. Established in 1979, the NPFDA Scholarship Foundation continues to support academic excellence.

Eligible applicants were from NPFDA member companies or were children of employees of NPFDA member companies. They had to be enrolled full-time at a US-based college or university, technical school or be graduating high school seniors pursuing a college degree in the fall. The application process required students to complete an application form, author an essay and submit these items along with their transcripts and a faculty recommendation.

The NPFDA Scholarship Foundation’s Selection Committee reviewed each applicant’s submission. Each submission was evaluated based on the goals and aspirations essay, extracurricular activities, recommendation letter and GPA. After a thorough review process, the top eight students were awarded $5,000 scholarships each.

One of the scholarships was generously provided in full by Shuler Meats and was awarded to Weston Ruddock of Texas A & M University.
