Meat Institute announces winners of leaders program

Aim of the program is to nurture future leaders in the meat retail industry.

To inaugurate the 2024 Annual Meat Conference, the Meat Institute and FMI–The Food Industry Association have unveiled the 10 winners of the 2024 Leaders of Tomorrow program.

The distinguished winners include individuals from prominent companies such as Tyson Foods, Albertsons Companies, Cargill, and SpartanNash, among others. Julie Anna Potts, president and CEO of the Meat Institute, expressed excitement about the potential these rising stars hold for the industry, emphasizing their creativity and innovation.

Leslie G Sarasin, president and CEO of FMI, commended the winners for their contributions to meat category management and highlighted their dedication to sustainable practices and consumer-centric experiences.

Since its inception in 2019, the program has aimed to recognize and nurture future leaders in the meat retail industry, providing them with opportunities to connect with established leaders and further their professional development.

Candidates are nominated by their supervisors and selected based on criteria such as commitment to advancing the retail meat business, individual initiative and leadership potential. Winners receive complimentary registration to the Annual Meat Conference and mentorship from industry professionals.
