CCFI announces new exec director

Lisa Bishop-Spencer brings 20 years of experience to the role.

The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity (CCFI) proudly welcomes Lisa Bishop-Spencer as its new executive director, effective March 4th, 2024.

Bishop-Spencer, with over 20 years of expertise in strategic communications, public relations and brand management in the food industry, brings invaluable leadership to CCFI. Formerly the director of Transit Strategic Communications & External Relations for the City of Ottawa, she demonstrated adept navigation of complex stakeholder environments.

Before her City of Ottawa role, Bishop-Spencer served over two decades at the Chicken Farmers of Canada, contributing significantly to brand awareness and credibility. Mike Dungate, chair of CCFI board of directors, expressed confidence in her ability to advance CCFI's mission, emphasizing her extensive experience, strategic leadership and dedication to transparency.

Following a competitive selection process, Bishop-Spencer's appointment stands out among an exceptional pool of candidates. Shanna Munro, chair of the human resources committee, expressed gratitude to all applicants and highlighted Bishop-Spencer's exceptional fit for the role.

Bishop-Spencer commented on her new role, expressing her commitment to fostering transparency and confidence in Canada's food production. CCFI, a national charity, looks forward to continuing its commitment to building public trust and informed decision-making in the food industry under her leadership.
