Pickleball Canada partners with Think Turkey

Organizations are collaborating to promote turkey as a preferred protein choice.

Pickleball Canada has designated Think Turkey as its National Protein Partner and Presenting Partner for the 2024 Myoflex Pickleball Canada National Championship. This partnership aims to establish turkey as the preferred protein for active Canadians and promote the growth of pickleball in the country.

"Turkey, a lean and nutritious protein, is ideal for keeping athletes at their best," said Darren Ference, chair of Turkey Farmers of Canada. "Through our collaboration with Pickleball Canada, we aim to connect with the vibrant pickleball community and introduce more Canadians to this family-friendly sport."

The year-long partnership includes various activations, such as athlete appearances, pop-up courts, giveaways and new youth programming. Think Turkey will also sponsor the Pickleball Canada Regional and National Championships.

Val Vollmin, president of Pickleball Canada, expressed pride in welcoming Think Turkey as a partner, highlighting the synergy between turkey and pickleball for a healthy lifestyle.

Pickleball's popularity has soared, with almost 1.4 million Canadians participating, a 37% increase from the previous year. Mark Hubert, president and CEO of Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors, emphasized the collaboration's goal to bring exciting new initiatives to communities throughout the year.

To encourage more Canadians to try pickleball and turkey, Think Turkey is hosting a contest with prizes, including pickleball paddle sets and grocery gift cards.
