USPOULTRY awards grant to Univ of North Georgia

Funding will be used for student recruitment.

The USPOULTRY Foundation has granted $7,000 to the University of North Georgia in Gainesville for student recruiting initiatives.

Program Highlights:

  • The university offers an associate of science degree with emphasis in agriculture-poultry science, featuring two tracks: avian biology and poultry science.
  • Tremendous growth in the poultry science program over the past year.
  • Addition of a new certificate in poultry science for business students, enhancing business acumen.
  • Grant funds utilized for marketing materials, recruiting events, and the Poultry 101 event with 100 students expected.

National Impact:

  • USPOULTRY Foundation awarded a total of $297,580 to 26 colleges and universities nationwide with poultry science departments or related degree programs.
  • Annual recruiting funds aim to attract students to poultry programs.
