The National Turkey Federation (NTF) renews its fifth-year partnership with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) for the Turkey Smoke Series, showcasing turkey on smokers and grills. The series, featured in select barbeque competitions across the U.S., adds extra prizes and recognition at KCBS-sanctioned events. The Turkey Smoke Team of the Year (TOY) award returns, with competitors earning points at 2024 events. Piggin’ Whiskey was crowned the 2023 TOY.
KCBS CEO Rod Gray expresses enthusiasm for the series, highlighting its challenge and creativity. Leslee Oden, NTF's Sr. VP, expresses pride in the partnership, anticipating a season of creative turn-ins. The Turkey Smoke Series is integrated into 20 competitions nationwide, including the American Royal World Series of Barbecue.
