HKScan receives high ESG rating.

Sustainalytics, respected corporate responsibility rating company, conducts ESG (environment, social, governance) ratings worldwide on an annual basis. Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating is a tool for investors and financiers to get information on corporate responsibility risks and how to manage them. 

Sustainalytics rates HKScan in the top 8 percent of nearly 600 international food companies in terms of responsibility risk management (our ranking is 43rd out of 579 companies assessed). Among packaged food producers, HKScan is ranked in the top 4 per cent (11/338). Sustainalytics’ latest ESG assessment of HKScan was published in September 2022.

“We are delighted that our target-oriented responsibility work is also reflected in these ESG ratings. We promote the responsibility of HKScan’s food chain through real actions. Responsibility work creates the basis for the company’s strategy: we promote the wellbeing of people and nature as part of profitable business,” says Hanna Lehtonen, the croup’s VP corporate responsibility.

HKScan’s key responsibility targets are defined in the responsibility program food that does good. The company’s key target is a carbon-neutral food chain by the end of 2040. HKScan works on responsibility throughout the food chain, from farms to consumers, together with its contract farmers and other partners.
