At the 5th annual Food System Summit, Mary Lou Quinlan, Founder and CEO of Just Ask a Woman, will join food industry leaders to discuss what recent beef purchasing research means for building trust and support in the food system with the most powerful consumer: the American female shopper.

The Center for Food Integrity announced that Quinlan will be a keynote speaker at this year's summit, Oct. 5-6, 2010, at the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare Hotel.

Terry Fleck, executive director of CFI, notes that Quinlan's participation is intended to help food industry leaders better understand why and what values of food producers and food products drive their consumers to make certain food purchases. How the food system can better respond to needs for product, information and value also will be discussed.

The event also includes a first look at the latest CFI Consumer Trust Survey results, the organization's annual survey of consumer attitudes. Breakout sessions with panel discussions focused on food animal wellbeing, food safety, nutrition and health, and technology and innovation are planned.
