On January 28, a barn fire destroyed 72,000 chickens in Belfast, Maine, reported the Boston Herald.
The Belfast fire chief said the cause of the fire is unknown. Farm owner Merle Grass said he will not rebuild the facility. He has 142,000 chickens in two additional buildings that were unaffected by the fire, he said.
