Kemin acquires encapsulation technologies

Kemin Industries has acquired a majority share of an Italian manufacturer of encapsulation products that are distributed by Soda Feed Ingredients. The encapsulation technologies are designed to time the release of active ingredients in the digestive tract for efficient nutrient absorption, according to John Springate, president of Kemin Agrifoods. Current products are geared toward the dairy industry.

Kemin will invest resources in research and development to apply the encapsulation technologies in the food, pet food, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries.
