Tyson may expand N.C. operations

Possible expansion could create 300 jobs

The return of the Holly Farms Fresh label has Tyson officials considering an expansion project for its Wilkesboro, N.C., complex.

According to reports, manager Mark Welborn said his company may expand some 16,000 square feet, which could up the plant production to 1.9 million birds weekly.

Officials will be discussing plans the week of October 5.
