James Perdue, CEO and president of Perdue Farms Inc., recently addressed students at Bridgewater College business students as part of the 2009 Scott Symposium on Business Ethics, according to an article by the Harrisburg, Va., Daily News-Record.

He stressed that his company's values are now "quality, integrity, trust and teamwork," which includes a commitment to environmental issues.

Perdue's dedication to protecting the environment can be seen in its $13 million investment in a poultry litter recycling plant in Maryland. The company also cooperated with the Environmental Protection Agency on a clean waters initiative for Maryland and Delaware, Perdue said.

He quoted his late father, Frank Perdue, by saying "If you do the right thing, you treat your people right, be fair and honest in your dealings, business will grow."
