The forum focused on the theme “supply chain – from farm to table” with a variety of industry hot topics, including raw material uncertainty increasing in international trade, blocked soybean and corn imports, broiler provenance supply and chicken meat import and export. Speakers also addressed poultry industry upgrading of globalization and localization strategy, industry chain value-added, the international market exploit, the application of digital technology, further processing trends, new retailing of chicken meat and eggs, and income and consumption trends.

At the forum, Gordon Butland, Chairman of G&S Agricultural Consulting, said that it is important to assess how advanced analytics can be used within companies to keep up with competition since modern technologies are widely available to speed up or improve decision-making processes in the value chain. Butland said poultry companies need to establish and improve a "data culture" that fragments, correlates and classifies data to predict future value.

Attendees were able to visit Shandong SpringSnow Food Co. Ltd, and participate in the 5th Poultry CEO Salon. Shandong SpringSnow Food Co. Ltd, is one of China’s large one-stop broiler chicken production and processing enterprises.
