Cargill Meats Thailand launches new pilot farm

New facility will help improve animal welfare standards.

Cargill Meats Thailand has launched a new broiler pilot farm in Saraburi to enhance poultry farming practices and improve animal welfare standards. This pilot facility, designed with over 70 pens, individual grain silos, and water lines, enables Cargill to analyze various factors like body weight, mortality rates, feed intake and foot health. Regular bacteriological samples are also collected to ensure optimal animal health.

The pilot farm, which began operations nearly two years ago, has already identified innovative feed formulas and additive products that enhance growth performance while prioritizing animal welfare. This facility also facilitates the study of natural behaviors, contributing to Cargill’s dedication to responsible, sustainable poultry production.

“Our broiler pilot farm reflects our proactive approach to meeting the growing demand for nutritious protein safely and responsibly,” said Suriya Pimsaard, agriculture director, Cargill Meats Thailand. “It enables us to explore effective methods and generate reliable data, building trust with our customers.”
