Meat groups want public comment for USDA marketing rule
The National Chicken Council, National Pork Producers Council, National Turkey Federation, North American Meat Institute and National Cattlemen’s Beef Council in a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack urged him to allow public comment if USDA proceeds with certain portions of a controversial livestock and poultry marketing rule originally proposed in 2010 and strongly opposed by meat, poultry, and livestock sectors.
