AlaTrade Foods, a 100% employee-owned poultry processing company with plants in Alabama, proudly announces the appointment of Josh Whitley as its new president. With 21 years of industry experience, Whitley brings a wealth of expertise and a vision for sustainable growth, building upon the legacy of AlaTrade’s founder, Davis Lee.

Whitley’s journey in the food processing industry began after earning a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2003. His career trajectory saw him hold various leadership positions at renowned companies like Tyson Foods, Inc., Smithfield Packing, and more recently, Tyson Foods, Inc., where he served as vice president of operations.

Whitley's entrepreneurial spirit led him to manage his own food processing plant in North Carolina, providing invaluable insights into running a successful business. His return to Tyson Foods, Inc., as an integral part of its leadership further honed his industry acumen.

Commenting on his appointment, Whitley expressed his commitment to AlaTrade’s growth and the welfare of its employee-owners. He aims to uphold the company's legacy while fostering a culture of excellence and empowerment.
