Ambar, a member of the Granot federation of Israeli farming communities, controls the largest animal feed producer in Israel, Ambar Feed Centers. Other subsidiaries produce poultry meat, parent stock and layer chicks, and also operate slaughterhouses. In addition to producing feed for broilers, turkeys, breeders and layers, Ambar produces animal feed for dairy herds, calves, sheep and fish. Wholly owned subsidiary Alef Bar produces more than 30,000 metric tons of poultry meat per year. Other partially owned subsidiaries (all 50%) are Ramit and Efrat (parent stock for chickens and turkey), Cornish Hen (slaughterhouses for broilers and turkeys) and Mekorit Bar (layer chicks). Ambar also operates several poultry joint ventures in Israel with Tnuva Food Industries, including I.T. Group.
