Perdue Farms associates in Salisbury, Maryland, achieved a milestone by raising a record $104,210 for the American Cancer Society (ACS) through efforts aligned with the Relay for Life and Men Wear Pink campaigns. Since 1998, Perdue associates have contributed over $915,000 to ACS as part of the company’s Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors outreach initiative.
A Commitment to Community
“Delivering hope to our neighbors is fundamental to who we are at Perdue Farms,” said Bill See, senior manager of community relations for Perdue Farms. “Cancer affects countless individuals, including our neighbors, associates, and their families. We’re proud of the compassion and generosity our associates demonstrate in raising awareness and contributing to the fight against this disease.”
Fundraising Highlights
- Relay for Life Campaign: Generated $81,210.82 through activities such as a golf tournament and raffles. Perdue was recognized as the American Cancer Society’s Northeast Region Team of the Year
- Men Wear Pink Campaign: Contributed $23,000, supported by a $10,000 grant from the Arthur W. Perdue and Frank Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving partner of Perdue Farms
Supporting ACS’s Mission
The funds raised will help ACS pursue its mission to:
- Fund critical cancer research
- Provide education on cancer prevention, screening and treatment
- Offer patient and family services for those undergoing treatment
