Thor Stadil, co-founder and co-owner of Thornico, recently received the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC) Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award has only been given twice before, in 2015 for Carsten Boyer Thøgersen, Consul-General of Denmark and in 2019 for Jørgen Mads Clausen from Danfoss. It is presented to people who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to advancing Danish business interests in China.
“Receiving this award puts not only me on the landmark but also THORNICO as a huge player in the market, and I’m very proud of that. We could not have done this without our fantastic colleagues worldwide, to whom we owe a huge thank you for their commitment and loyalty,” said Stadil.
Thornico’s portfolio includes egg industry businesses, including Sanovo and Ovodan.
Criteria for the DCCC Lifetime Achievement Award include:
- Long-Term Service: A minimum of 20 years of involvement in strengthening business relations between Denmark and China.
- Significant Impact: Contributions that have transformed or significantly advanced the Danish business community in China, whether through leadership in key industries, driving innovation, or fostering economic partnerships.
- Leadership and Influence: A recognized leader who has inspired others and influenced the direction of Danish-Chinese business relations. This includes setting an example of professional excellence, ethical standards, and community engagement.
- Innovation and Forward Thinking: The award honors individuals who have introduced groundbreaking solutions or business models, adapting to changing economic or geopolitical conditions and securing the future of Danish businesses in China.
- Legacy and Inspiration: The recipient's contributions must leave a lasting legacy and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations in the Danish-Chinese business environment.
- Ambassadorship for Danish Values: Embodies Danish values of sustainability, corporate responsibility, and respect for cultural diversity in business practices, strengthening Denmark's reputation in China.
Stadil was also recently honored by the International Egg Commission with the Dennis Wellstead Award for International Egg Person of the Year.
