Australian free-range egg producers open farms to celebrate World Egg Day

To celebrate World Egg Day, four free-range eggs farms in Australia are joining forces to show consumers what free-range eggs mean by holding an open day at the Grantville, Victoria, property of Freeranger Eggs. The farm was the 2012 Australian national winner of the Energy Globe Award for its sustainable approach to farming and the ability for the production system to be replicated almost anywhere in the world.

The open day will take place on October 13 and the farmers will be available to discuss all issues regarding free-range production. Visitors will be able to see how hens live as well as how eggs are collected, graded and packed. Information sheets, covering sustainability, food safety and animal welfare, can be downloaded from the Freeranger Eggs website.
